Facebook Pages

I saw this post earlier on MBC about “like(ing)” everyones facebook page.  Do you have a facebook page?  If you do comment and let me know and I will be happy to follow you on facebook!  I do not have a facebook page for my blog just my online business.  I was just working on it today and would love some “new” fans.  Okay, so it’s not “fan” anymore it’s “like” which personally I like “fan” better but Oh well, I don’t make the rules!

You can follow me on facebook here – Lillian Aerin & Co. Or on the<—select “like” from the facebook box on the left hand side of my blog.

If you do not have a facebook page set up and you were thinking about setting up one I’ve included below the simple steps of how to get started!

  1. log into your facebook account
  2. at the very bottom of your HOME page you will see ADVERTISING- click on this.
  3. Once you are on the advertising page at the very top click on pages with the orange flag.
  4. Once you are on the pages look to your right and you will see a green button – create page.
  5. Once you select create page it will walk you through setting up your facebook page!
Good luck and let me know if you have one so I go and “like” your page!  Seriously –  fan sounds so much better! 😉

Revealing Colors on Facebook

Are you on facebook? If you are I bet you were scratching your head as to why so many women updated there status with color? Below is the message I received from a friend and I have to admit after I read it I updated my status with my color.

I honestly did not think this would catch on so quickly as it did?! By mid afternoon, most of my guy friends were updating there status with what’s up with the color status, what’s going? It was funny to see how fast this email got around facebook and how many women took a second to update their status with the color of their bra! I would say this raised awareness especially to all of the men on our friends list and even some women.

I follow many blogs and I found it was interesting to read all the other blog posts about this and to see what others said about the color status’s on facebook. There were many mixed feelings about this as some thought it was offensive and others updated their status and felt like they were doing there part in promoting breast cancer awareness. CNN interviewed spokeswomen from Susan G. Komen and she said “It’s not one of our campaigns, but we’re all for it,” said Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. “Just about anything that raises this issue in a positive, fun way is just terrific.” You can read more of this article at CNN. Maybe, in that initial email that went around they should have said at the end of the day update your status with this {gave us some statistics on breast cancer}…… and then we could have posted this in our status with links back to Susan G Komen site. I will say it did grab everyone’s attention and from what I could see on my facebook home page no one was really offended by it but maybe a few were frustrated when they couldn’t figure it out?

Some fun is going on…. just write the color of your bra in your status. Just the color, nothing else. And send this on to ONLY girls no men …. It will be neat to see if this will spread the wings of cancer awareness. It will be fun to see how long it takes before the men will wonder why all the girls have a color in their status…
have fun
